Herpes














86D: Cowdry Type A, eosinophilic, intranuclear inclusions, which are typical for herpes simplex virus (HSV) type 1 encephalitis. Some of these in the cortex have a clear space about them, with exaggeration of the staining of the nuclear membrane, while others fill the nucleus (see arrows).
